Mark Frost and David Lynch’s Twin Peaks originally aired at a time before access to the World Wide Web was commonplace. While I dabbled in bulletin boards via CompuServe in the late 1980s, I didn’t access the internet until spring 1995. The early 1990s, however, saw some technological marvels that formed a foundation of the social…
I love finding rare gems that I’ve never seen in all the years of being a Twin Peaks fan. I particularly like production paperwork as it provides insight into what it took to create the wonderful and strange show I adore. One such thing is a Worldvision Enterprises, Inc. press kit for “Year Two” of Mark…
In episode 2.011 of Twin Peaks, Lana Budding and Dougie Milford tie the knot during a small ceremony held at The Great Northern Hotel. The newlyweds then held a reception complete with dancing and cake. When filming took place in late October 1990, Unit Publicist Paula K. Shimatsu-u was on hand to capture some shots of…
There are many reasons why I love David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. One reason on my list is the appearance of David Bowie as Special Agent Phillip Jeffries who suddenly returns to the F.B.I. Office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after going missing for two years. Granted, his screen time in the theatrical release is…
I acquired several several color transparencies from ABC / Capitol Cities featuring characters from David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks. I’ve shared a few of them in previous articles, such as Peggy Lipton as Norma Jennings and Sheriff Harry S. Truman and Josie Packard. This time, the small town Sheriff (Michael Ontkean) joins Special Agent…
As I decompress from a fantastic trip to Snoqualmie Valley, I return to the publicity photos from Spelling Films International for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. This time, it’s two similar photos showing Laura Palmer standing at the doorway to her bedroom, including one shot we don’t see in the theatrical release.
A look at my collection of black and white publicity photos from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me continues with an image of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) and James Hurley (James Marshall) at the light at Sparkwood & 21. This print comes from a collection of prints from Spelling Films International that I won at auction….
In the second season opener for Twin Peaks, Carel Struycken made quite an entrance playing the Giant. He appeared twice to Special Agent Dale Cooper toward to beginning and near the end of the episode. As part of the show’s publicity, a close up photo slide of the Giant in room 315 at The Great Northern…
I would have loved to be in North Bend, Washington on February 21, 1989. This was the first day of filming for what became Mark Frost and David Lynch’s pilot to Twin Peaks. Scenes that day were captured at the Mar-T Cafe which was the Double R Diner in the show. Today, it’s known as Twede’s…
One of the most iconic publicity photos from David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me shows Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) sitting on a bed in room 6 at the Red Diamond City Motel. I say it’s “iconic” because it was used extensively for the film’s key artwork in markets around the world.
