From the first cup of coffee seen poured at the Double R Diner on April 8, 1990, Twin Peaks fans from around the world have been drawn to the Real Twin Peaks of Snoqualmie Valley, Washington in search of damn fine coffee. The SnoValley Regional Chamber recently published the Snoqualmie Valley Coffee Trail Passport, a free 20-page guide with 25 unique coffee destinations found in towns like Carnation, Fall City, North Bend, Snoqualmie and more. Several of these spots have connections to Mark Frost and David Lynch’s wonderful and strange show.
SNOQUALMIE VALLEY COFFEE TRAIL IN THE REAL TWIN PEAKS
The SnoValley Chamber is a Regional Chamber of Commerce who serves the business communities of Fall City, North Bend, Preston, Snoqualmie and Snoqualmie Pass. This area is also where Mark Frost and David Lynch filmed their groundbreaking television series Twin Peaks and prequel film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
The chamber published a free 20-page guide containing 25 coffee destinations found in many small towns throughout the valley. It’s a rather comprehensive guide which will make your first or next visit more special. The Valley has so many unique restaurants, breweries and shops; no wonder I love visiting so often (and dream of living there one day).

To get started on the trail, you need to download the guide at the above link. Use this guide to collect stamps from the 25 different locations, some of which have connections to the show.
As you can see on the map, the are many spots found between Snoqualmie and North Bend (which served as primary locations where the series and feature film were shot). Yet, you can find other spots stretching all the way from Snoqualmie Pass to Carnation.
The passport stamp page contains 25 circles with logos from each destination. Below you will find a list with map directions and insights about a location’s connections to Twin Peaks. I can’t wait to follow this trail as there are a few spots I have yet to visit.
Once you collect all the stamps, you can upload your completed passport online to get bragging rights and be entered for a chance to win some cool prizes.

During the Real Twin Peaks 2024 event, Arête 1.0 Coffee Bar in North Bend hosted a panel discussion with John Thorne, Vinnie Guidera and me about archiving and documenting David Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks. The conversation was moderated by Karl Reinsch as we enjoyed damn fine coffee from the nearby coffee bar in the shop. It’s found inside a bustling ski and outdoor shop that also carries nourishing breakfast options and made to order lunch sandwiches.

Arête Coffee Bar at The Line Bike Experience is the location of Big Ed’s Gas Farm in Twin Peaks: The Return. Ed Hurley is seen enjoying a cup of soup from the Double R Diner at night in the location that is now home to the coffee bar.
The Line Bike Experience is a mountain bike shop and training center that officially opened in March 2023. The company wants to help people experience the fun of biking by making the “right equipment available, where it’s used, at low cost and to help riders with the skills and knowledge they need to enjoy bikes.” During the Real Twin Peaks 2026 event, they carried a small selection of Big Ed’s Gas Farm-inspired apparel (the t-shirt is incredibly comfortable). This is also the film location of The Mechanic found in Part 8 of Twin Peaks: The Return.

Located in the historic Prescott-Harshman House, Aroma Coffee Co. is home to Pete’s Treefort, built by Pete Nelson of Treehouse Masters. Their signature drink, The Bee in a Tree, honors our community partners, the Nelson family, with a syrup crafted by local Chef Manuel Rodriguez—featuring burnt honey and cinnamon.
Nearby, you’ll find the Farmhouse Market which was the unused location of Keri’s Handi-Mart in Part 12 of Twin Peaks: The Return. The crew planned to film at the store but ran out of time in October 2015. The on-screen location is found in Burbank, California.
DRIP AT SNOQUALMIE CASINO

The Snoqualmie Casino was not seen in Twin Peaks yet you can find damn fine coffee at Drip. I stayed a night at the casino during the Real Twin Peaks 2026 event. At Drip, you can savor handcrafted espresso and expertly brewed coffee, café-style fare, and decadent treats at two inviting locations. One location is open 24/7.
While on the seventh floor of their tower, I took this photo of snow-covered trees while enjoying a cup of hot, black coffee from Drip. It was surprisingly delicious and fueled my creative energy.

While visiting Carnation, you can also find a handful of Twin Peaks film locations including the Town Hall from the Pilot and the buildings shown above which are seen outside the window of the Double R Diner in the show’s second season.

Huxdotter Coffee has severed Snoqualmie Valley residents since 1990. Their most popular beverages include the Twin Peaks Latte, Baja Breeze Hux Energy, and Irish Cream Cold Brew. They also carry fresh pastries delivered daily, along with breakfast and lunch options made in-house and by a local catering partner.
In North Bend, the cafe is found just down the street from the Snoqualmie Valley Museum, an invaluable resource for much of my research about Twin Peaks film locations in the region.
While in Snoqualmie, the small drive-thru stand is found just down the street of Mount Si High School (Twin Peaks High School) and the former town of Meadowbrook where Mo’s Motor, Gersten Hayward’s Apartment, the original Fat Trout Trailer Park and more were filmed.

Founded in 1990 and lovingly renewed in 2020, the Black Dog Arts Cafe is a wonderful spot to sip organic, fair-trade espresso from Tony’s Coffee, savor scratch-made vegan and vegetarian dishes inspired by Peruvian roots, and treat yourself to all-vegan desserts. They have also hosted several panel discussions during the Real Twin Peaks events including “Twin Peaks and Japan: Connections to Washington State and Beyond,” “More Fun Facts about Twin Peaks Locations,” “This Dream Place – Twin Peaks Locations in California,” and a full day of panels from the 2023 Real Twin Peaks event.

The Coffee Shop is a mother-daughter-owned coffee shop with two cozy spots — one in downtown Issaquah and one in their hometown of Preston. Their logo features their French Bulldogs, Nash and Tank who are the shop mascots and everyone’s favorite greeters. I love that Washington state is incredibly dog friend (perfect for my small Mexican “Chi-wow-wow” to paraphrase Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole).

Rooted in the valley and inspired by the community, the Freestone Collective’s scratch kitchen serves up thoughtfully made meals from morning to afternoon. They offer expertly roasted craft coffee, breakfast all day, chef-crafted sandwiches and salads, all made with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a local twist.
Across the street from the Freestone Collective, you’ll find the Northwest Railway Museum – Snoqualmie Depot. This was one of Special Agent Dale Cooper’s prospective properties from episode 2.012. You’ll also find Smokey Joe’s which was Elk Point Bar #9 in Part 14 of Twin Peaks: The Return.

Dark Horse Brew has a stand in downtown Snoqualmie which is across the street from the Railroad Park & Centennial Log Pavilion. TWEDE’S CAFE

It’s the place where pies go when they die. Twede’s Cafe has been a beloved part of downtown North Bend since the 1940s. It was known as the Mar-T Cafe when filming first took place in February 1989 for what would become the Twin Peaks pilot. Pat Cokewell owned the diner at the time and would sell it a few years later in June 1997 to Kyle Twede when the diner’s name was changed to Twede’s Cafe. Today, the diner is owned by Rachel and Max. They continue serving hearty comfort food alongside fresh coffee, making it a go-to stop for breakfast or a casual meal.
SNOQUALMIE FALLS GIFT SHOP AND VISITOR CENTER

Snoqualmie Falls is an incredibly popular spot to visit in Washington state, attracting more than 2 million visitors annually. In 2023, the Snoqualmie Tribe opened a completely remodeled Snoqualmie Falls Gift Shop and Visitor Center containing exhibits, a gift shop and a small cafe. The cafe’s top-selling item is our S’mores Bites and the Ham & Cheese Croissant is a local favorite.
Inside, an exhibit titled “Our Story Is the Story of the Falls,” documents the history of Snoqualmie Falls from Time Immemorial to modern day. It is believed that Moon the Transformer created the falls and the first Snoqualmie people at this sacred spot.

While it’s not on the coffee trail, I would also recommend The Restaurant at Salish Lodge & Spa. Their coffee is exceptional! They are also known for their Honey from Heaven service which a server pours honey made at the hotel high over fresh biscuits. This tradition goes back to 1916 when the Snoqualmie Falls Lodge was built. It’s supposed to represent the 268-foot waterfall just outside.
