Twin Peaks in DVD Collection Booklet from Paramount Japan in October-November 2007

The year 2007 was a thrilling time to be a Twin Peaks fan. In the fall, the much anticipated Twin Peaks – Definitive Gold Box Edition DVD set was released, containing  a wealth of never-before-scene treasures from my favorite television show. Fans in Japan could pick up this set starting November 9, 2007. Paramount Japan featured the set and other Twin Peaks home media in Vol. 41 of “DVD Collection” booklet for October-November 2007.

The cover of the DVD Collection booklet from Paramount Japan for October/November 2007 featured the iconic image of Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) wrapped in plastic on the rocky beach near Blue Pine Lodge in the pilot episode. The free booklet was basically a catalog of new and upcoming DVDs being released in Japan.

Google Translate provided a rough translation for the cover: “The ultimate gold box set of the 90s TV drama that became a global social phenomenon is finally here!”

The two-page Twin Peaks spread contains information about four different home media options. The left side of the page contains an image of Special Agent Dale Cooper (featured on the Twin Peaks second season DVD set from North America). There is also details about the Definitive Gold Box set and the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me DVD.

I turned again to Google Translate to decode the left page which highlights the two different season two DVD sets.

The right side via Google Translate details contents of the Gold Box set along with the DVD for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Unlike the North American release, it doesn’t look like the Japanese Gold Box set containing the collectible postcards (documented extensively in this article).

I love finding this kind of ephemera in such pristine condition, especially since it was produced over 18 years ago!
