I acquired at auction a lot of 1990s publicity photos from California’s The Modesto Bee newspaper. The coolest part about these photo is that I have located the original newspapers when the images were published. This photo of Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne on the set of the Double R Diner was run on Thursday, April 18, 1991.
AUDREY HORNE SQUARE PHOTO IN ‘THE MODESTO BEE’ ON APRIL 18, 1991
This square publicity photo shows Sherilyn Fenn as Audrey Horne on the set of the Double R Diner. It’s part of a series of shots taken by Craig Sjodin who worked for 39 years as a still photographer for ABC Television and The Walt Disney Company. He passed on September 15, 2023 as a result of injuries sustained from a bicycling accident.
Along the photo border, there are marks indicating where the square image would be cropped even further.

This is a full-color shot pulled from The Mauve Zone showing another pose from Ms. Fenn.

The outfit appears to be from Twin Peak episode 1.005, which may have been filmed sometime around November 20, 1989. Other scenes from this episode were shot around this time (such as the Log Lady’s cabin scenes).

In the publicity photo, you see a cable knit sweater draped over a Double R Diner booth. Audrey wore the sweater to the Icelandic welcome party held at The Great Northern Hotel. The entire outfit is seen as she sneaks down the hallway to her secret spot looking into her father’s office.

The Audrey Horne image was used in the television guide published in the paper. Twin Peaks episode 2.020 aired on April 18, 1991 on the ABC Television Network. This would be the final episode to air until the two-hour television special on June 10 showing episodes 2.021 and 2.022.
Here is how the cropped photo appeared in the paper. I placed the square publicity photo over the newspaper to crop the photo.
I found a similar image from a few days earlier on April 14 as part of Polly Vonetes syndicated, “Let’s Talk” column published in The Mountaineer Echo. Vonetes would answer reader’s questions about celebrities.

In this column, Brian Brewer from Morristown, Tennessee asked about Sherilyn Fenn.
Q: I would like to know more about Twin Peaks’ Sherilyn Fenn. She has the most beautiful screen presence. —Brian Brewer, Morristown, Tenn.
A: A brown-eyed beauty, Sherilyn Fenn is perhaps best known for her starring role in the 1988 film Two Moon Junction. Born in Detroit, she had an unconventional childhood. She and her two older brothers and a younger half-sister and brother spent their growing-up years moving from place to place with their mother, who played keyboards for various rock bands. At 17, Fenn and her mother moved to Beverly Hills. The teen-age: decided to pursue an acting career and studied for a year with various teachers. She appeared in a number of small features, including The Wraith, opposite Charlie Sheen, Prep School, with Virginia Madsen and Out of Control. She played supporting roles in the television movies Silence of the Heart, Divided We Stand and Death of a Sibling. Expect to see more of this young actress. Write to her: c/o Twin Peaks, Audience Relations, 1926 Broadway, New York, NY 10023.
I love seeing something I never knew existed – Twin Peaks Audience Relations. The address is for the ABC television and radio mailroom that was once located at 1926 Broadway. The network set up the “care of” department to handle all the mail received about David Lynch and Mark Frost’s show.
