The Twin Peaks second season finale, episode 2.022, was aired along with episode 2.021 on Monday, June 10, 1991. The ABC Television Network broadcast these episodes back-to-back beginning at 9:00 p.m. The second part aired from 10:00 to 11:00 p.m. The episode was directed by David Lynch and written by Mark Frost & Harley Peyton, and Robert “Bob” Engels. Lynch performed numerous rewrites to the episode while filming took place in early March 1991. There were 10.4 million viewers from the United States who watched the cliffhanger episode and series finale.
