In fall 2024, fast fashion retailer H&M released officially licensed Twin Peaks apparel for women. I was surprised to see these items available, especially since it’s been several years since Part 18 aired. Now, H&M has released as new loose fit t-shirt inspired by The Great Northern Hotel in Twin Peaks, WA.
BRIEF HISTORY OF H&M
In 1947, Erling Persson opened his first women’s clothing shop named Hennes in Västerås, Sweden. Today, it’s notably known today as H&M but the company’s full name is H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB. They are headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
In the latter half of the 20th Century, H&M opened additional stores in Norway, United Kingdom, Germany and other European countires. They jumped onto the World Wide Web in 1998 by opening an online store. Two years later on March 31, 2000, their first U.S. store opened on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
They are considered a “fast fashion” retailer which means they ”replicate recent catwalk trends and high-fashion designs, mass-produce them at a low cost, and bring them to retail quickly while demand is at its highest.”
It’s not a surprise the iconic Twin Peaks television show would find its way onto apparel, especially since new fans continue finding David Lynch and Mark Frost’s wonderful and strange show.
TWIN PEAKS THE GREAT NORTHERN HOTEL T-SHIRT FROM H&M
The Loose Fit T-shirt inspired by The Great Northern Hotel has a retail of $17,99. The crew-neck T-shirt was made with a soft, medium weight cotton jersey and has a generous, but not oversized silhouette, and Dropped shoulders. The article number is: 0972640116
The front of the black t-shirt contains a drawing of the Room 315 room key on a green key fob.

The key is reminiscent of the one seen throughout Twin Peaks: The Return, such as this image of Jade holding the key in Part 3.
Here is a closer look at the key design on the shirt’s front. The inside back neck of the shirt contains two labels – one for H&M and one indicating it’s an officially licensed item.
This is how the shirt looks on the model who is 188cm/6’2″ and wears a size medium shirt.
The same model wearing the shirt which offers another look at the key drawing.
The back of the shirt contains the words, “THE GREAT NORTHERN HOTEL / TWIN PEAKS, WA”
This is how the back of the shirt appears on the same model.
Following Jun Takahashi’s Undercover collection featuring Twin Peaks in 2024, I’m so happy officially licensed products continue finding their way onto shelves. This shirt is going to find a way into my closet. Keep it up, H&M!
I bought one for my son’s birthday. He loves it!
