It’s always a surprise to find Twin Peaks apparel suddenly pop-up in well-known retailers. This time, two women’s apparel items inspired by David Lynch and Mark Frost’s show have arrived at fast fashion retailer H&M. I guess the dream of the 1990s is still alive.
BRIEF HISTORY OF H&M
In 1947, Erling Persson opened his first women’s clothing shop named Hennes in Västerås, Sweden. Today, it’s notably known today as H&M but the company’s full name is H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB. They are headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
In the latter half of the 20th Century, H&M opened additional stores in Norway, United Kingdom, Germany and other European countires. They jumped onto the World Wide Web in 1998 by opening an online store. Two years later on March 31, 2000, their first U.S. store opened on Fifth Avenue in New York City.

With a recent resurgence of 1990s trends, it’s not a surprise the iconic Twin Peaks television show would find its way onto apparel.
OVERSIZED PRINTED T-SHIRT
The first item is an oversized printed white t-shirt which has a retail of $17.99. This oversized T-shirt in soft cotton jersey has a printed design, ribbed neckline, heavily dropped shoulders, and a straight-cut hem. The article number is:1227727024.
The front of the shirt contains the “Twin Peaks” logo and the phrase “I’ll see you again in 25 years” first uttered by Laura Palmer in the Red Room.

The back contains four vertical panels with the Welcome to Twin Peaks sign, red drapes and chevron floor from the Red Room, Laura Palmer’s Homecoming Queen photo and trees and a mountain in the distance.
That fourth image comes from officially licensed products created when Twin Peaks: The Return aired on Showtime. You may recognize the image as it was used on the cover of a Double R Diner menu. In reality, the image of the Asulkan Valley at Glacier National Park located in British Columbia, Canada.

OVERSIZED PRINTED SWEATSHIRT
H&M also produced an oversized printed sweatshirt using images and graphics from the show.
The cream-colored Twin Peaks sweatshirt has a retail of $34.99 and has a printed design and soft, brushed inside. It’s a crew neck shirt with dropped shoulders and long sleeves. Ribbing is found at the neck, cuffs, and hem. The article number for this item is 1227731018.
The front of the shirt only contains the “Twin Peaks” logo.
I stopped by an H&M Store in Palm Springs, California on October 28, 2024 and found a sweatshirt. I am happy to report these apparel items are officially licensed Twin Peaks products. The label had a copyright of 2024 next to the size tag.

A closer look at how the shirt drapes on a body.
The back contains an image from the Red Room with the phrase “I’ll see you again in 25 years.” At the bottom of the Red Room image is a the “Twin Peaks” logo along with six square images along the bottom.
Those images include the Welcome to Twin Peaks sign, Laura Palmer’s Homecoming Queen photo, Josie Packard in the Blue Pine Lodge Library, the exterior of the Double R Diner, Special Agent Dale Cooper and Audrey Horne at One-Eyed Jacks as as captured by Paula K. Shimatsu-u.
This is the same image of Audrey that appeared on a Hollywood Show trading card from October 2010.
I adore the photo of Joan Chen as Josie Packard at the Blue Pine Lodge. Between her look and the numerous books I need to identify, it’s a perfect publicity shot!

H&M JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA – SWEAT PARKA
For those living in Japan, H&M offers a cream-colored, Oversized Full Zip Sweat Parka. It’s similar to the sweatshirt (jumper) but it has a zipper front.
The sweat parka is also found in South Korea.
The item description reads: “Full-zip parka in soft, brushed sweatshirt fabric with a design. Oversized fit. Double-panel hood with drawstring. Zip at front. Low dropped shoulders and long sleeves. Ribbed cuffs and hem. Item Number:1227730027.”
The back graphic appears the same as the U.S. version.
There were several shots of the same blonde model sporting this sweat parka.
All said, this was a delightful surprise of three new, officially licensed Twin Peaks items. One suggestion H&M, make something for guys too!
