I’ve previously discussed the location of Big Ed’s Gas Farm as seen in Twin Peaks – The Return, the incredible third season of Mark Frost and David Lynch’s wonderful and strange show. Whether its in the pilot or the third season, this location has seen its fair share of businesses occupy the buildings that served as film locations for the Gas Farm. Today, I’m focusing on the North Bend, Washington location used in Parts 8, 13 and 15. This building is now home to The Line Bike Experience, a mountain bike shop and training center that officially opened in March 2023.
WHERE IS BIG ED’S GAS FROM IN SEASON 3 LOCATED?
![Big Ed's Gas Farm Location](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/02_TPB_Loc_WA_S3BigEd_GoogleMaps-1024x583.jpg)
The Line Bike Experience is located at 1130 E North Bend Way. The approximate coordinates are 47°29’15.6″N 121°46’15.9″W.
Transmissions Plus, Inc. was operating in the space at the time of filming in September 2015. You can read all about the history of this spot in this previous location article. According to property records, the building was constructed in either 1941 or 1945 (I found two different dates).
The location was decorated with various props on September 9, 2015 with scenes shot on September 10.
THE LINE BIKE EXPERIENCE

The Line Bike Experience is a new concept in bike shops for Snoqualmie Valley, Washington. The company wants to help people experience the fun of biking by making the “right equipment available, where it’s used, at low cost and to help riders with the skills and knowledge they need to enjoy bikes.”
The company was inspired by the amazing work of organizations like Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, which built some of the best bike trails in the Pacific Northwest. The team at The Line truly wants to bring mountain and gravel biking to everyone.
The location held it’s grand opening on March 18, 2023. At that time, owner Michael Kunz spoke with Conor Wilson from the Snoqualmie Valley Record about his desire to make biking accessible to all.
“When you look at the mountain biking community, it’s not very diverse,” Kunz said. “We need a lot more people who can come out and enjoy this and building the courage and getting self-confidence when you ride a bike.”
![View of Mount Si from back yard of The Line](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_MountSiView1-1024x683.jpg)
During my visit to North Bend for the Neon Dream event at Twede’s Cafe in August 2023, I stopped by The Line to check out the business. The team there was incredibly welcoming and offered a tour of their facility.
The view from their backyard was breathtaking – who wouldn’t want to see Mount Si every day? At the time, they were working on building ramps, obstacles and other training equipment to get new bikers familiar with mountain bikes.
![Bike storage unit with door closed](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_StorageClosed-1024x683.jpg)
The North Bend facility is a great place to go if you are interested in biking or if need your bike repaired. They also wanted to expand beyond this facility by bringing these small storage units to trailheads throughout Snoqualmie Valley and beyond.
![Bike storage unit with door open](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_StorageOpen-1024x683.jpg)
Inside the unit, people will find bikes they can rent. Kunz told the Snoqualmie Valley Record they planned to “bring and manage 20-bike modules to parks, resorts and schools where riders will be able to rent bikes near riding opportunities.”
“Now we can get people who could never bike before because of transporting a bike, taking care of a bike, or buying a bike,” he said.
The first unit is now available at Snoqualmie Point Park by the Lower lot by Raging River Stage Forest. The Trailhead kiosk is open on demand through winter. That park is also where Laura Palmer and Donna Hayward’s picnic scene and James brooding while looking at the mountains were shot.
![Window inside a repair shop](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_MaintenanceShop-1024x683.jpg)
The former automotive garage (which also has an amazing view) serves as a bike repair shop. It’s one of the few in the region and the team does a great job as they want folks to get back to biking.
![Mechanic fixing a car inside a garage](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/11_TPB_Loc_WA_P8Mechanic_MechInt01-1024x576.jpg)
The interior of this location also served as the mechanic’s garage from Twin Peaks – Part 8.
![Brick wall with a tiny metal biker riding down concrete](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_MaintenanceDetail-1024x683.jpg)
I loved the little detail like this sculpted metal biking guy riding down part of the wall. The exposed brick was most likely original construction from the 1940s.
![The Line merchandise including a Hat and waterbottle](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_Merchandise-1024x683.jpg)
Inside the lobby, they offer branded merchandise and other biking accessories such as GPS systems.
BIG ED’S GAS FARM SIGN
Another reason I stopped by the line was I heard they recreated the Big Ed’s Gas Farm sign seen in Twin Peaks.
![Big Ed's Gas Farm sign](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_HomemadeSign-683x1024.jpg)
They debuted this sign in February 2023 for the first Real Twin Peaks event. Sadly, I missed stopping by the location due to some personal conflicts. During my visit in August 2023, the team took me to the basement were they stored the sign.
![Big Ed's Gas Farm sign](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/06_TPB_Loc_WA_S3BigEd_MauveZone_BigEdSign2-768x1024.jpg)
This is how the sign looked in season 3. I think The Line’s sign is a close resemblance; I just love they offered something like this for the Real Twin Peaks event.
![Big Ed's Gas Farm Sign with person holding log](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_RealTwinPeaksSelfieSpot.jpg)
They brought out the sign again for the Real Twin Peaks 2024 event where attendees could take a selfie with Nadine’s golden shovel and eye patch.
Let’s take a look at how the location today matches up with it’s on screen counterpart.
BIG ED’S GAS FARM IN PART 13
A nighttime establishing shot in Part 13 is the first time we see Big Ed’s Gas Farm in season 3.

I returned to the location early in the morning on August 27, 2023 to capture some location shots. Their security cameras probably captured a good show as I tried matching screen images to actual location images.
![Big Ed Hurley eat soup from the Double R Diner](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/13_TPB_Loc_WA_S3BigEd_P113EdCupSoup-1024x569.jpg)

The scene cuts to interior shots of Big Ed Hurley eating soup and drinking coffee from RR2GO-branded cups. The shelving units behind Ed are not in the location today.

We then see a reverse shot of Big Ed looking out the front windows

This is the view from inside the lobby of the Line. I clearly needed to be a little to the right.

This is a wider angle shot of The Line’s lobby. It’s been completely remodeled since scenes were shot in September 2015.
BIG ED’S GAS FARM IN PART 15
As Nadine Hurley marches toward Big Ed’s Gas Farm in Part 15, we see the magnificent Mount Si in the background.
![Nadine Hurley's walk](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/23_TPB_Loc_WA_S3BigEd_P15NadineWalk1-1024x569.jpg)
![Mount Si in the morning between two buildings](https://twinpeaksblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/TPB_Loc_WA_BigEdsTheLine_MountSiBetweenBuildings-1024x683.jpg)
My early morning shot on August 27 was just as the sun was rising over the mountain.

The camera follows Nadine as she approaches Big Ed. The Line added parking spots and converted the garage closest to the front door into another door with windows.

Ed watches as Nadine walks out of his life. I really wish I knew where the “All Repairs Strictly Cash” sign ended up.
A big thank you to the team at The Line Bike Experience for letting me photograph your shop. I’m wishing you much continued success with this endeavor. During a future visit to Snoqualmie Valley, I really should rent a bike from them. It looks like fun.
OK, so have you figured out where Big Ed’s Gas Farm was in the original series from 1990? I have not. There’s a church to the left behind it, but I can’t identify that either.
Here’s a pic of it from 1990.

Yes! It’s located at 8606 Preston-Fall City Rd SE. You can read about the location here: https://twinpeaksblog.com/2018/05/16/big-eds-gas-farm-from-twin-peaks-pilot-episode/
