Twin Peaks Fan Fest Memories – Fall City Grill

While attending the 1996 Twin Peaks Fan Fest in Washington state, I visited several of the film locations fromĀ Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. The former Fall City Grill, located atĀ 4050 Fall City-Carnation Road Southeast in Fall City, was the location of Hap’s Diner (see this article for more details about the location). This is the restaurant Agents Desmond and Stanley visit after finishing Teresa Banks’ autopsy.

We stopped at this location during the bus tour of Twin Peaks film locations during the festival. This was the same tour that made an unscheduled stop at the Park Street Trailer Park which was the film location of the Fat Trout Trailer Park. Considering the scene at Hap’s Diner is my second favorite scene in all of Twin Peaks, I was over the moon!

My buddy Joe Neff and I returned to the Fall City Grill after the Fan Fest concluded that weekend. Sitting at the same counter where Agents Chet Desmond and Sam Stanley sat was such a surreal dream. I’m sporting the official t-shirt from the 1996 Festival in the photo.

This was the door to the room where the FBI Agents speak with Jack before questioning Irene. I wish I would have taken more images (ala InTwinPeaks.com style) of this location. Where’s my time machine?!

Eating at Fall City Grill

We had lunch – a “Twin Peeks” burger if I recall correctly – at Fall City Grill. Just look at that 1990s fashion – those jeans with a tucked in t-shirt and a belt. Stylish! Difficult to believe this photo was taken approximately five years after the movie was filmed here. Seems so distant today.

Today, the Fall City Grill is no more. The location changed owners and names, ending with Fall City Bistro. That restaurant closed in April 2017 when the owner moved the business to Duvall, Washington and reopened as FlavourBistro.

As of early July 2024, the entire building was demolished by King County as they continue to help protect the area from the Snoqualmie River that often floods.
