In my travels, I often wear Twin Peaks-themed t-shirts as they spark instant conversations with fellow fans of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s wonderful and strange show. During a recent visit to Universal Epic Universe, the new theme park that recently opened in Central Florida, I met artist Haleigh Mooney who commented on my Fright Rags Special Agent Dale Cooper shirt released on Twin Peaks Day 2025. She was hired by Universal to create complimentary postcard sketches for guests visiting the park. As it turns out, she is a fellow Twin Peaks fan who created character sketches during a “Twin Peaks Drawing Challenge” in October to November 2020. Here’s a look at these stunning designs with links to purchase.
WHO IS HALEY MOONEY?

According to her bio, Haleigh Mooney is a Florida-based freelance illustrator and 2D/3D animator with her sights set on a position in the TV industry. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2018 with a BFA in Character Animation. Haleigh said she’s been actively drawing since about age 14.
Upon graduation, she began working on illustrations for the Lucky Love Series written by Casey Lane. “Lucky Love & His Moms“ and “Lucky Love Starts School,” were both published in 2020 and follow a little dog named Lucky Love who was adopted by two moms. Her online portfolio has plenty of examples of other illustration and animation projects.
Haleigh is also the bassist in the Orlando Paranormal shoegaze band Saucers Over Washington whose first album, “American Cosmic,” is now available for streaming on Bandcamp. The band’s name was inspired by the famous UFO sightings that occurred in skies over Washington D.C. in July 1952.
I chose to be sketched in front of Luna, goddess of the Moon, statue found near the entrance to Epic Universe. With my Canon EOS R5 camera in tow, I turned my back toward Haleigh for her to capture my outline. The final result had me leaping over the moon! The personalized postcard was such a unique keepsake from the theme park, and I’m convinced David Lynch’s creative spirit brought us together for that moment.
After I gave her my Twin Peaks Blog business card, she mentioned Twin Peaks characters sketches she completed a few years ago. Haleigh said Michael Horse commented on her Deputy Hawk image. When I got home, I marveled at her talents – the sketches are than damn good. Her use of color and lighting combined with classic expressions, icons and dialogue from the show make them some of the best Twin Peaks artwork I’ve seen in years.
Here is a closer look at all of the character sketches from “Logtober” 2020.
TWIN PEAKS DRAWING CHALLENGE BY HALEIGH MOONEY

Day 1 on October 1, 2020 featured a drawing of Laura Palmer in the Red Room, eyes aglow and making the “Meanwhile” gesture. The image caption read, “This year’s drawing adventure is going to be the Twin Peaks Drawing Challenge! Get your fish and your percolators. It’s on.”

On October 2, her Day 2 illustration featured Donna Hayward in a scene inspired by the emotional moment from Twin Peaks High School in the pilot episode. The caption read, “Here’s a secret ’bout me: my favorite complimentary colors are blue ‘n orange.”

James Hurley riding his motorcycle at night is featured on her Day 3 image from Oct. 3. Her caption read, “I made him look cool, but psst… come closer… James has never been cool. There, I said it.” This is a nod to dialogue from Shelly in Twin Peaks Part 1 about James when she spots him at The Roadhouse.

Bobby Briggs recreates a moment from the Double R Diner during the pilot for Haleigh’s Day 4 drawing for Oct. 4. The caption read, ‘Not if I see you first,’ which was Norma Jennings response to Bobby as he exited the diner with Shelly.

Audrey Horne’s iconic dancing scene from episode 1.002 is found on Haleigh’s Day 5 drawing on Oct. 5. She even has the Queen of Diamonds card on the table, a nod to her outfit from One Eyed Jacks later in the first season. The caption read, “It’s it too dreamy?”.

Sarah Palmer takes center stage on Day 6 of Haleigh’s drawing challenge. This image from Oct. 6 shows Mrs. Palmer at the foot of stairs leading up to Laura’s bedroom, a scene inspired by a haunting moment from the pilot. The caption is inspired by Sarah’s dialogue – “I saw him by the foot of Laura’s bed.”

“The one, the only, the caffeinated… Dale Cooper, everyone,” read Haleigh’s caption for her Day 7 drawing of Special Agent Dale Cooper. This image was published on Oct. 8 and shows Coop pouring a black and white chevron floor pattern from a coffee cup.

Also published on October 8 is the Day 8 drawing of Sheriff Harry S. Truman surrounded by a “policeman’s dream” of doughnuts. Haleigh’s caption read, “May you partake of the sweet things in life like Sheriff Truman. Enthusiastically, and in one large bite.” This is a nod to Michael Ontkean’s character shoving an entire doughnut in his mouth while Cooper debriefs the morning in episode 1.001.

Lucy Moran Brennan and Deputy Andy Brennan are found on a drawing for Days 9 and 10 from Oct. 10. The caption read, “Filed under: Best TV Couples of All Time.”

Deputy Hawk is seen holding pink striped oven mitts while holding a bucket of rocks inspired by a scene from episode 1.002. Behind Hawk in the ledger art inspired by artwork Michael Horse created for Twin Peaks: The Return. The caption read, “@officialdeputyhawkk_ , this one’s for you” to which Horse responded, “I love this.”
For the Day 11 image on Oct. 11, I love that she included the “T. Hawk” name badge, something that proudly sits in fellow Twin Peaks Blog author’s prop collection.

Major Briggs is the subject of the Day 12 drawing from Oct. 13. Her caption read, “And the award for best Twin Peaks dad goes to…”

Day 13 on Oct. 15 featured Pete Martell ready for a day of fishing while holding his fish-filled percolator. I can hear Jack Nance completing the line of dialog above … “You’d never guess. There was a fish in the percolator.” Haleigh’s caption read, “Pete’s a sweet guy… Just don’t drink his coffee.”

For Day 14 on Oct. 15, Haleigh hosted a livestream at 7:30 p.m. EDT where she completed her drawing of the Log Lady. I love the Log gets its own drawing which is not available as print.

Margaret Lanterman, the Log Lady, is shown on the Day 14 drawing completed on Oct. 15. It includes Catherine Coulson’s famous response to Agent Cooper from episode 1.001 – “Ask it.” Haleigh’s caption read, “Thanks for tuning into the livestream, or logstream as I like to call it, to see me complete this piece. Next time will have better connection and some gotdang music.”

The Brothers Horne – Ben and Jerry – are featured on the drawing for Days 15 and 16. This image was published on Oct. 18 with the caption, “Twin Peaks makes you crave food like no other show.” Where’s my baguette with brie and butter?

Dr. Lawrence Jacoby is found on the Day 17 drawing from Oct. 19. The image was inspired by Jacoby’s scene with Agent Cooper from episode 1.004. Haleigh’s caption read, “Woah, I blinked and suddenly we were halfway through this drawing challenge and the month of October!”

Nadine Hurley is found on the Day 18 drawing published on Oct. 20 with the caption, “Run silent. Run drapes.”

Big Ed Hurley and Norma Jennings is found for the drawing created on Days 19 and 20. This image was published on Oct. 22 with the caption, “Who wouldn’t want to date Norma Jennings, Pie Queen?”

For the drawing on Day 21, Haleigh writes, “I adore Shelly. I think she might have bad taste in men, though.” This image was published on Oct. 23 and features the favorite Double R Diner waitress Shelly Johnson.

Haleigh drew Special Agent Albert Rosenfield for Day 22 on Oct. 24, which includes a nod to his arrival in Twin Peaks from episode 1.002. The caption is from Miguel Ferrer’s dialogue from episode 1.003 – “Oh yeah, well I’ve had about enough of morons and half-wits, dolts, dunces, dullards, and dumbbells… And you, you chowder-head yokel, you blithering hayseed- you’ve had enough of me?”

Regional Bureau Chief turned FBI Deputy Director Gordon Cole is found on the Day 23 drawing from Oct. 25. He’s recreating a scene from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me while the nuclear explosion from Part 8 is seen in the distance. Haleigh held another “logstream” to complete this image as the caption read, “Here’s the finished product from tonight’s logstream. I’ll post the last 30 minutes of the stream in IGTV tomorrow.”

Diane Evans from a scene in Part 9 is found on Haleigh’s Day 24 drawing from Oct. 27. The simple caption with a cow emoji read, “For your consideration, Laura Dern.” This was a nod to David Lynch’s famous “For Your Consideration” campaign for Laura Dern’s performance in Inland Empire where he brought a cow to a street corner in Los Angeles.

Ray Wise’s character Leland Palmer is the subject of the Day 25 drawing from Oct. 28. Haleigh includes the lyrics to “Mairzy Doats” in the caption which Leland famously sang in episode 2.001 – “Mares eat oats and / Does eat oats and / Little lambs eat ivy / A kid’ll eat ivy, too / Wouldn’t you?”. Ray recently performed this song during the Real Twin Peaks 2025 event which was beyond incredible to see!

Killer BOB is found in the Day 26 drawing from Oct. 29. He’s recreating one of the scariest moments from the show when he climbs over the Hayward’s couch in episode 2.002. The caption is from a poem Mike shares, “”He is BOB! / Eager for fun! / He wears a smile. / Everybody run!”

Speaking of Mike, the One-Armed Man, he’s found for Day 27 drawing on Oct. 30. Haleigh was inspired by another incredibly haunting scenes from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, when Mike confront Leland and Laura Palmer at an intersection.
The caption is pulled from dialogue in episode 2.006, “”But then I saw the face of God and was purified. I took off the arm, but remained close to this vessel, inhabiting from time to time for one single purpose.”

The Giant from a scene in episode 2.007 is featured on the Day 28 drawing published on Nov. 1. Haleigh’s caption is the Giant’s dialogue from episode 2.001, “”I will tell you three things. If I tell them to you and they come true, then will you believe me?”

The Little Man From Another Place and the Evolution of The Arm is found on this Day 29 drawing from Nov. 3. It’s currently not available via Etsy. The caption from Agent Cooper’s dream reads, “That gum you like is going to come back in style!”

One of my favorite drawings was made on Day 30 and features Lil’ the Dancer from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. The caption is Gordon Cole’s dialogue to Agents Desmond and Stanley at the private Portland airport – “She’s my mother’s sister’s girl.”

The Woodsman from Part 8 is found the Day 31 drawing from Nov. 5. For the caption, Haleigh included the Woodsman poem broadcast from KPJK – “This is the water, / And this is the well. / Drink full and descend. / The horse is the white of the eyes, / And dark within.”

The final image of Haleigh Mooney’s “Twin Peaks Drawing Challenge” for “Logtober” shows Theresa Banks from Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. This Day 32 drawing was published on Nov. 8 with the caption, “This is the last drawing for Logtober! Thanks for all who witnessed this journey. This was the first time I have ever completed an October drawing challenge! And now my goal is to offer Logtober prints within the next week or two… Stay tuned!”

She does lovely work! I like the fun cartoony style and bright color. I did a drawing challenge (Inktober) a few years ago where I attempted to match up the prompts each day, with David Lynch projects and it was so much fun.
I’ve seen your work, Gilbert. It is amazing! 😀 <3
Wow! Her art is so amazing. I’m not even a Donna Hayward fan but the one she did of that character is filled with so much emotion. Wow. Beautiful work. Thanks for pointing her work out for us to enjoy! 😀 <3
