This past week, I fell down a rabbit hole recapping the entire “Wonderful and Strange” Twin Peaks-themed collection by Undercover. From the preview at the Paris Fashion Show in January 2024 to the New Arrivals announcement in July to location photos from the product set on July 27, this comprehensive retrospective captured every detail of Japanese fashion designer Jun Takahashi’s work. This was one of the largest product releases of officially licensed merchandise since Twin Peaks: The Return debuted on Showtime in 2017. I’m now turning the spotlight on the stars of the assortment – the apparel and accessories – in this complete catalog of items I will most likely never own.
COMPLETE CATALOG FOR “WONDERFUL AND STRANGE” TWIN PEAKS COLLECTION BY UNDERCOVER
The “Wonderful and Strange” collection by Undercover was officially released in stores and online on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Additional items were added about two months later on September 14.The men’s apparel and accessories included publicity images from the first season of Twin Peaks along with iconic places and phrases from David Lynch and Mark Frost’s show.
At the time this article was written, many of the items were already sold out on line. Considering they were created for Fall / Winter 2024, there is no indication they will be restocked. You may find some of these sold out items on the secondary market. Undercover is a high-end fashion brand which means they have high-end fashion pricing. Everything is listed in Japanese Yen, which can be easily converted to U.S. Dollars using this online tool.

The white shirt contains a “Welcome to Twin Peaks” logo created for the Japanese market. Notice the population number if 51,200 versus 51,201, decreased by one due to Laura Palmer’s death. The Owl Cave symbol is found along the right sleeve.
Here is a closer look at the “Welcome” logo which was found on the back of the 1992 Japanese Souvenir program for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
Three more Cotton sweat pullovers join the mix with my favorite featuring The Great Northern Hotel logo (UC2D4806-3 / ¥58,905). The Dark Red (UC2D4806 / ¥93,555) has three Jacquard patches while the Black shirt (UC2D4806-1 / ¥65,835) has the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign spot image filling up the back panel.
Two Cotton brushed sweatshirt hoodies contain images and graphics from the show. The Light Green Gray hoodie (UC2D4807-2 / ¥ 69,300) has the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign spot on the front with the Owl Cave symbol on the back. The Bordeaux-colored hoodie (UC2D4801-2 / ¥93,555) has an image of Audrey Horne in class at Twin Peaks High School. These items are joined by Cotton Sweatpants (UC2D4504-2 / ¥72,765) with the Bookhouse Boys logo offered in three colors – Top Gray, Top Charcoal and Bordeaux.
Four Cotton-wide graphic t-shirts contain more imagery from Twin Peaks. The Dark Red (UC2D4809-1 / ¥48,510) and Black (UC2D4809-2 / ¥48,510) shirts have Jacquard patches on the front and back. The White shirt (UC2D4809-5 / ¥38,115) has an image of Laura Palmer wrapped in plastic with Agent Cooper’s “wonderful and strange” quote below. A Bookhouse Boys patch is found on the center top back panel. The Double R Diner shirt (UC2D4809-4 / ¥34,650) has the restaurant’s logo on the front left breast area with a publicity image printed on the back.
Three items included a uniquely designed “Twin Peaks” logo, something that isn’t found in any previously publicity for the show. The White shirt (UC2D4809-3 / ¥51,975) contains a back graphic from the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign spot while the Charcoal shirt (UC2D4809-6 / ¥34,650) contains Agent Cooper’s quote from episode 2.018. The Ivory Cotton Sweatshirt Hoodie (UC2D4807-3 / ¥69,300) also has the quote and an Owl Cave symbol on the sleeve.
Part of the Patch Series, three Crew Neck Knit shirts were offered in Beige (UC2D9901-1), Navy (UC2D9901-2) and Top Charcoal (UC2D9901-3). Each shirt had a retail of ¥100,485.
Three similar Cardigans also included Jacquard patches on the sleeves. Colors included Khaki Beige (UC2D9902-1), Navy (UC2D9902-2) and Black (UC2D9902-3). Each had a retail of ¥112,612.
Plenty of Denim items were part of this collection including these two “Patch Series” jackets in Light Blue Indigo (UC2D9201-1 / ¥207,900) and Black (UC2D9201-2 / ¥207,900).
Other Black Denim jackets had full back panel images of Laura Palmer wrapped in plastic (UC2D4205-1) and Special Agent Dale Cooper (UC2D4205-2) holding a tape recorder. Both had a retail of ¥173,250.
Two pairs of Denim jeans with Jacquard patches complement the jackets. Offered in Light Blue Indigo (UC2D9501-1) and Black (UC2D9501-2), they had a retail of ¥147,262 each.
Here’s a closer look at how the patches were attached to the Denim.
One of the most unique designs featured in this collection comes from the packaging used for “Twin Peaks: From Z to A” Blu-ray collection. I immediately recognized the design after identifying the source image used for the packaging.
The stock image is a fog-covered forest in the Carpathian Mountains, not Washington state.
Items with this design include a Mountain Parka (UC2D4202 / ¥329,175), Down Jacket (UC2D4201 / ¥381,150), Cotton Sweatpants (UC2D4504-1 / ¥100,485) and a Cotton Sweatshirt Hoodie (UC2D4807-1 / ¥114,345).
Two Nylon MA-1 Jackets were produced with one featuring an image of Special Agent Dale Cooper on the back panel and a second reversible jacket with the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign spot on the back.
The Cooper jacket (UC2D4204) has a Cotton Sweatshirt Hood and a retail of ¥381,150. The Sign Spot jacket (UC2D4211) retails for ¥225,225.
More jackets include a Wool Nylon jacket (UC2D4203 / ¥311,850) with cowhide leather sleeves which resembles a Letterman jacket from high school. The Satin Twill Stadium jacket (UC2D4208 / ¥259,875) has the Double R Diner logo on the front with a full back panel of the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign spot on the back.
Two longer Beige-colored coats were part of this collection. The Cotton Mod Coat (left – UC2D4301 / ¥311,850) and the Cotton Stainless Steel Collar Coat (right – UC2D4302 / ¥311,850) contain quilted, removable linings.
Three Nylon Coach jackets with POLARTEC® boa fleece lining were included in Green (UC2D4303-1), Black (UC2D4303-2), and Bordeaux (UC2D4303-3). Each coat sells for ¥173,250.
ACCESSORIES FROM “WONDERFUL AND STRANGE” COLLECTION BY UNDERCOVER
Accessories created for Jun Takahashi’s “Wonderful and Strange” collection include five baseball caps which the company calls “Wool Caps.” Styles include a Black hat (UC2D4H01-1) with “Twin Peaks” logo, Brown hat (UC2D4H01-2) with Bookhouse Boys logo, Gray Hat (UC2D4H01-3) with Twin Peaks Sheriff Department logo, and two hats Double R Diner logos – Bordeaux (UC2D4H01-4) and Navy (UC2D4H01-5). Each hat had a retail of ¥43,312.
The hats were made by Kijima Takayuki which was a company previously known as “coeur.” In 2013, the company changed its name to “KIJIMA TAKAYUKI,” the name of the designer behind it, and expanded its men’s and women’s lines. According to their website, they started “HIGH LINE” in 2017 which is “a high-end line for the Fall/Winter season. This collection uses rare and luxurious raw materials through traditional haute mode techniques, according to the immutable values of the designer.”
Three Wool Blend Acrylic Caps with embroidered patches joined the other Wool Baseball hats – Black hat (UC2D4H02) with “Twin Peaks” logo, Green Bookhouse Boys Logo hat (UC2D4H02-2) and Charcoal Twin Peaks Sheriff Department hat (UC2D4H02-3). The hats sold for ¥20,790 each.
Two Shoulder Bags with images of Laura Palmer wrapped in plastic (UC2D4B04-2) and Special Agent Dale Cooper (UC2D4B04-1) were once carried as part of the collection. They are no longer listed on the Undercoverism.com website. I found details about these items on a secondary shop. They sold for ¥30,800 each.
You can see them in location photos so they must have been incredibly popular to have since sold out completely.
Three CORDURA® Daypack were offered in Black (UC2D4B05-3), Navy (UC2D4B05-2) and Bordeaux (UC2D4B05-1).
The backpacks have different Jacquard patches on the front along with the “Twin Peaks” logo on the black bag and the Bookhouse Boys logo on the Navy-colored one. The bottom of the daypacks are made of cow leather. The top of each contain Special Agent Dale Cooper’s quote from episode 2.018 when the law enforcement team was exploring Owl Cave: “I have no idea where this will lead us, but I have a definite feeling it will be a place both wonderful and strange.” Retail: ¥112,612 each.
The last three bags included a small Black Polyester Tote Bag (UC2D4B03 / ¥31,185) with the “Twin Peaks” logo, a 2-way Polyester “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign spot bag (UC2D4B02 / ¥55,440), and a 2-way Polyester “Twin Peaks: From Z to A Collection”-inspired design (UC2D4B01 / ¥62,370).
This model shot shows the approximate size of the small Black tote.
The final accessory item in this collection is a Silver 925 Signet Ring (UC2D4R01 / ¥190,575) inspired by the Owl Cave symbol ring seen in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and Twin Peaks: The Return. This ring appears to be different than the Rocklove Jewelry ring sold on ParamountShop.com. The inside contains the “Twin Peaks” and Undercover logos along with the official copyright mark.
There is one additional item that was released at Nordstrom stores – Wool and Cashmere Sweater with the “Twin Peaks” logo across the front. This item could have been carried in Japan but I didn’t find any location photos and it’s currently not listed on the Undercover website.
All said, the “Wonderful and Strange” collection is an incredible tribute to Lynch and Frost’s groundbreaking series and it’s delightful to see an appreciation of the show still continues nearly 35 years after its premiere.
