Twin Peaks Film Location – The Paige House in Part 7

During my quest to identify every Twin Peaks filming location, there are times when I just get lucky. After watching a brief scene between Beverly and Tom Paige in Part 7 from Season 3, I decided to find this home. Using the street address prominently featured on the home’s exterior, it didn’t take me long to find a match.

WHERE IS THE PAGIE HOUSE IN PART 7 LOCATED?

Google Maps - Encino, California

To find this location, I searched “16832” which is the street numbers seen on the front of the house. I first paired that number with “Van Nuys, California.” No luck. However, on the search results page, there was a listing for a house in Encino, California. Turns out – it was the house! [Cue joyful shouting]

The address is 16832 Mooncrest Drive and the approximate coordinates are 34°08’50.9″N 118°30’00.3″W.

A reminder that this is a private residence so no trespassing please.

This location is about a five minute drive from Jeffrey and Evelyn Marsh’s mansion in Season 2.

Shot on March 9, 2016, the scene opens with a nighttime exterior shot of the home’s front doors. Look carefully to see the street numbers.

Bing Maps offered a great street view of the home’s exterior, which is what I used to confirm this was the same spot. This 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home was constructed in 1956, placing it firmly Twin Peaks‘ favorite architectural style – mid-century modern.

A nurse named Marge is seen leaving the home. She’s played by Judith Drake who has also appeared numerous television shows and films including How I Met Your Mother (Bernice), House of 1000 Corpses, Parks and Recreation and more.

Richard Skipper has a great interview with her from 2012 reminiscing of her time on the stage performing as Ernestina Money in Hello, Dolly! during the mid-1960s.

Many Southern California residents list their homes on film location website. During my recent visit to the region this week, I spotted four different shoots taking place so clearly location managers are always seeking places to shoot. I turned to CastLocations.com and, after searching “Encino” and the Architectural style “50’s 60’s 70’s Ranch,” I found the listing for this home.

Here’s a glimpse just inside the front door of the house. The light fixture appears to be different compared to the broadcasted episode. The smoke detector on the wall is seen in both shots.

Beverly Paige (played by incomparable Ashley Judd) returns home from a late night at The Great Northern Hotel to find Marge just leaving her house. Google Maps offers a great image from 2014 of the front doors. Clearly a match!

Marge tells Beverly that her husband Tom had a rough day. She gave him extra medication. He was patiently waiting for her to come home before he ate dinner. Marge left food on the stove, and remarks that Tom has been missing Beverly … Paige. Like missing Paige. Hmmm.

We cut to the home’s interior and see Beverly’s husband Tom (played by Hugh Dillon) sitting in a wheelchair. The furniture in the living room has been replaced with a hospital bed, medical equipment and a giant television. Tom is struggling to survive though there is no indication why.

Here’s the same living room which looks like a time capsule from a different time. I love that fire place!

Here’s a look at the living room as seen from the adjacent dining room. Notice the wallpaper as you can barely see some of it to the left side of the screen cap from Part 7.

We get one last look at Tom as Beverly yells at him. This is Tom and his nurse Marge’s only episode. We never seen them again in Season 3 and have no idea what became of Tom.
