Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me Synopsis CORRECT VERSION

In the folksy town of Deer Meadow, Wash., FBI Agent Desmond (Chris Isaak) inexplicably disappears while hunting for the man who murdered a teen girl. The killer is never apprehended, and, after experiencing dark visions and supernatural encounters, Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) chillingly predicts that the culprit will claim another life. Meanwhile, in the similarly cozy town of Twin Peaks, hedonistic beauty Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) hangs with lowlifes and seems destined for a grisly fate.

The above film synopsis is what currently appears when you search for “twin peaks fire walk with me synopsis” on Google. Sadly, it has two glaring errors.

Two changes are needed: it’s “Deer Meadow, Wash.” not “Deerfield, Wash.,” and it should be “Laura” not “Lara.”

Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me Synopsis

I wrote an extensively detailed article on June 23, 2020 about how this synopsis may have originated. Since that time, I’ve shared feedback with Google every week about the synopsis and included a link to that article.

This article is an attempt to influence Google Search rankings so that this correct synopsis appears just below the incorrect one (or until they update it).

If anyone at Google is reading this, I’m sending pie and coffee to the person who corrects it.

Better yet, I’d prefer they use the Criterion Channel synopsis:

“In the town of Twin Peaks, everybody has their secrets, but no one more than Laura Palmer. In this prequel to his groundbreaking 1990s television series, David Lynch resurrects the teenager found wrapped in plastic at the beginning of the show, following her through the last week of her life and teasing out the enigmas that surround her murder. Homecoming queen by day and drug-addicted thrill seeker by night, Laura leads a double life that pulls her deeper and deeper into horror as she pieces together the identity of the assailant who has been terrorizing her for years. Nightmarish in its vision of an innocent torn apart by unfathomable forces, TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME is nevertheless one of Lynch’s most humane films, aching with compassion for its tortured heroine, a character as enthralling in life as she was in death.”

WHY DO I CARE ABOUT THE CORRECT SYNOPSIS FOR TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME?

Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me
Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me

The film is LITERALLY about the last seven days of Laura Palmer and her name is misspelled!

Fat Trout Trailer Park, Deer Meadow, Wash.
Fat Trout Trailer Park, Deer Meadow, Wash.

Plus I adore the first 35 minutes in Deer Meadow, Wash.

David Lynch, the cast and crew spent countless hours creating this masterpiece. It’s the least I can do to show my appreciation.

Google Search

When I looked to see if the synopsis had been corrected on August 19, 2020, it appears Google Search removed the “Feedback” link under the synopsis.

So I used the “Share Feedback” link at the bottom of the page to send yet another plea for them to update the two misspellings.

Strangely, the “Feedback” link is now back under the synopsis.

Email to Google Search

So I sent them direct feedback like I have nearly every week since June 2020.

Four years later, I’m still trying to get the incorrect synopsis updated on Google . Here is my latest attempt which will probably go unnoticed.

If you care like I do, please feel free to share feedback by clicking on either the “Feedback” link under the synopsis or the “Send Feedback” link at the bottom of the page HERE.
