This Is Where We Live (in Washington State), Shelly

Johnson House

There were two exterior locations used for the home of Leo and Shelly Johnson. The first home exterior seen the Pilot Episode and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was located in Washington State.

With thanks to the former InTwinPeaks.com website, I learned the home was located at 8304 372nd Place SE in Snoqualmie, Washington.

Fellow Twin Peaks fan Ross Dudle (@RDudle on Twitter) who runs in the Twin Peaks Soundtrack Design website, wrote a piece about the homes for Welcome To Twin Peaks.

The includes an interesting video from the home owner that was recorded in 2011 during the Twin Peaks Fan Fest. He said the Twin Peaks crew was at his home for a three-day shoot.

Shelly and Bobby
Surprise! Leo’s home.

We get a first look at the Johnson home as Bobby Briggs approaches the place with Shelly Johnson (see this article about the multiple locations used for that scene).

Google Street View has an image of the spot from 2008.

Fire Walk With Me

For Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, they reused the shot from the Pilot Episode as an establishing shot. This time, the image was crop and colors were slightly modified to match the warm hues seen in the film.

Credit for finding this place must go to Charles and Travis from InTwinPeaks.com. I’m presenting the page from that now closed website below in tribute (click on the image to enlarge). Excellent work, gentlemen!
