Twin Peaks Fan Fest Memories – Palmer House in Everett, WA

I recently shared a comprehensive look at all of the exterior shots of the Palmer House in Twin Peaks. Two homes in Washington State were used in the series – one located in Monroe and one in Everett. I had the opportunity to visit the latter home following the 1996 Twin Peaks Fan Fest.

My good friend Joe and I attended the festival in August 1996 (side note – check out his blog – The Polysyllabic Frenzy – when you have a moment).  Following the event, we spent a few days exploring the North Bend – Snoqualmie – Seattle area. During one excursion on August 13, 1996, we drove north to Everett, Washington.

I can’t recall why we chose that city other than we may have heard some scenes were filmed there.  At the time, the “World Wide Web” was new and not much information was available about the film locations.

I remember driving around Everett with Joe, turning down random streets in our rental car. Somehow we turned onto 33rd Street.

By August 1996, I had seen Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me multiple times on VHS. As we drove down the street, the houses and landscaped began looking familiar. I soon realized we stumbled upon the Palmer House!

In complete shock, we stopped the car and stood in front of the home. We never approached the house, yet took several photos of the exterior.

I also took a photo of the spot nearby the Palmer House where Laura Palmer leaves the framed photo Mrs. Tremond gave her outside the Double R Diner.

I will never forget the sensation of accidentally finding a film location from my favorite David Lynch film. What a thrill! It would take more than 20 years until I had that sensation again discovering Mr. C’s car crash site in Part 3 on Showtime.

Please remember this is a private residence, so please be respectful if you are in the area. This reminder includes anyone who wants to scream at the house while standing on the street … yes, it happens. Don’t be that person.
