Dead Guy in Carrie Page’s House from Twin Peaks – Part 18

David Lynch applying make up to a Dead guy sitting in chair with a bullet wound to the head

Since launching Twin Peaks Blog in February 2018, I’ve enjoyed offering a place for like-minded Bookhouse Boys and Gals to share their discoveries. Matt Haywood (@TwinPeaksSounds) is one of those individuals whom I’ve connected via social media. He loves decoding David Lynch and Mark Frost’s mysteries as much as I do. He recently solved one by identifying the uncredited dead guy in Carrie Page’s house from Part 18 of Twin Peaks: The Return. The guy is not Ronnie Gene Blevins who played the loan shark Tommy in Part 6, but he is a talented rock and blues musician and actor.

WHO IS THE DEAD GUY IN CARRIE PAGE’S HOUSE FROM TWIN PEAKS – PART 18?

Question and answer from TulpaForum.com

The Tulpa Forum recently held a conversation with Twin Peaks producer and long-time David Lynch-collaborator, Sabrina Sutherland. During the chat, a fan asked about the “uncredited corpse on Carrie Page’s couch” who “looks like Ronnie Gene Blevins, who played Tommy the loan shark in Part 6.”

Blevins (pictured left above) is standing next to Jeremy Davies who plays Jimmy. Sabrina didn’t confirm details about the scene or the actor who played the dead guy in scene, yet it’s easy to see a similar resemblance. Much like how David Lynch did not play the Curious Woman from the Fat Trout Trailer Park in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, the uncredited dead guy from Part 18 was played by an actor who is not Blevins.

Meet Josh Harp, the uncredited dead guy in Carrie Page’s house.

Originally from Chattanooga,Tennessee, Josh learned to play guitar, saxophone and harmonica. He relocated to Chicago in 1991 where he played with many of the top blues musicians in throughout the city until 2004. The following year he moved to Los Angeles, California to continue his music career and pursue acting. Josh has played music throughout the United States, Europe and Canada, and has starred in several television shows, films and music videos.

His website – JoshHarp.com – is still under construction. In 2019, he released a blues album via Apple Music titled “Alone.” You can see music videos from four years ago his YouTube channel – JoshHarpsMusic.

While he isn’t currently credited for his role in Twin Peaks on the Internet Movie Database, he posted this photo which Matt found on his personal IMDB page.

Facebook – Josh Harp, September 14, 2017

Digging a little deeper, I found this post from his Facebook page about a week after Part 18 aired on Showtime in 2017.

He was told that he “could be recalled later,” implying that his character could return at another time. Harp also mentions he received no details about his part and “Lynch was a very cool dude.”

In the Behind the Curtain footage from Part 18, we see Lynch applying makeup details to Harp while inside Carrie Page’s home. How cool is that? Lynch has always been cool.

THE DEAD GUY’S MAKEUP

Lynch and Frost worked with some of the best crew members in the business for Twin Peaks such as Richard Redlefsen. He is an Emmy Award and Artisan Award-winning makeup and makeup FX artist for the film and TV industry based in Los Angeles. He worked on the make up for Harp’s character which he shared on his IMDB.com page. Interestingly, he described the application as a “2 day old bullit [sic] wound to the head from Twin Peaks.”

The scenes with the dead guy in Carrie Page’s house were shot on October 21, 2015 in the desert of Southern California.

Upon entering Carrie’s house, Cooper sees a dead guy with a bullet wound to the head. He stares at the corpse.

When the camera cuts back to Harp’s dead guy, the image is slightly cropped. The guy is pointing at something and his belly appears extended. Look carefully in the scene and you’ll notice a fly dancing on the head wound. How did Josh remain so still?

Part 18

When rehearsing the scene, Lynch told Kyle that he is supposed to notice two specific things in the house – the dead guy and the white horse on the mantle. The wide shot shows both of those objects.

Eventually, Cooper will leave the house with Carrie without asking any questions about the dead guy on her couch. There is certainly more to the story that maybe we’ll discover one day.

All said, I’m happy to finally confirm Josh Harp played the dead guy, not Ronnie Gene Blevins. Thank you to Matt for your detective work and welcome to Twin Peaks Blog!
