Showtime and Society6 have collaborated for a celebration of all-things Twin Peaks. New artwork is released each day throughout June 2020 from artists all over the world. One of the most popular artists featuring during this salute to the 30th anniversary of the show is Steven Rhodes. He returns today with two more designs inspired by the locations from the series.
The Twin Peaks X Society6 collection is no longer available as of 2024. This article is an archive of the artwork featured in this collection released in 2020 for the 30th anniversary of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s wonderful and strange series.
JUNE 21, 2020 – STEVEN RHODES
Steven’s designs were inspired by two places on the opposite end of the spectrum in the series – the Canadian casino and brothel One Eyed Jacks, and the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Department.
ONE EYED JACKS
One Eyed Jacks is a casino and gentleman’s club just over the Canadian boarder from Twin Peaks. Benjamin Horne bought the place around 1984 and was subsequently ousted when Jean Renault came to town in March 1989. It was also the establishment where Ronette Pulaski and Laura Palmer were hired to work as prostitutes.
In reality, there were two different locations used for One Eyed Jacks. In Episodes 1006 and 1007, the crew shot scenes at a private residence in Agoura Hills, California. This film location article is one of my most popular on Twin Peaks Blog.
Other scenes were shot on set at City Studios (now Occidental Studios) in Van Nuys, California.
TWIN PEAKS SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
The Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Department exterior was shot at the former Weyerhaeuser Saw Mill office in Snoqualmie, Washington. It’s now home to Dirtfish Rally School. Steven’s artwork is a nod to the exterior from Season 3.
The flagpole and the bronze memorial to William Willard Warren are missing.
The bronze likeness and sundial once located outside the building was one of four memorials in Snoqualmie Valley. It was purchased with small donations from W.W. Warren’s workers following his passing at the age of 45 in 1921. According to LivingSnoqualmie.com, Warren played a very important role in the evolution of the town of Snoqualmie Falls and Lumber Company.
Sadly, the bronze memorial is long gone and folks aren’t sure where it went.
THE PRODUCTS
Similar to previous releases by Steven, the artwork today is available as a print, framed print, metal print and canvas print.
