Twin Peaks X Society6 – Red Neon Meanwhile

Ten days ago on June 10, Tel-Aviv artist Shilat gave us her Laura Palmer inspired design titled “Meanwhile.” She returns today to Society6 with a neon-colored version of this iconic hand gesture from Mark Frost and David Lynch’s masterpiece.

Tel-Aviv artist Shilat titled her work “Meanwhile,” which were inspired by the way Laura Palmer positions her hands in Episode 2022.

Shilat first posted this neon-colored “Meanwhile” design on her Instagram account in November 2018. She remarked that the scene “gives her chills” and she wanted to honor it by giving it some “neon glamour.”

MEANWHILE…

Laura Palmer in the Red Room
2022

In Episode 2022, Laura Palmer (or someone who feels like she knows her) tells  Special Agent Cooper that she will see him again in 25 years. She then says one word, “Meanwhile.”

She goes silent and presents her hands as such.

Meanwhile [pun intended] later in the episode, we see Laura Palmer’s doppelgänger present her hands first.

Then she angrily yells “Meanwhile” before climbing over a chair and approaching Cooper.

We *literally* then waited 25 years to see Cooper, Laura and the rest of the gang in Season 3 on Showtime.

At the beginning of Part 1, we are reminded of the last time we saw the good Dale and Laura in the Lodge. The scene plays out exactly like Episode 2022 except the image is cropped to a 16:9 format and the color has been enhanced.
