Twin Peaks X Society6 – Twin Peaks RR Diner Toss

My favorite diner is featured today as part of the Twin Peaks 30th Anniversary collection by Society6. The artist, Yesterday Collection, who was previously featured on June 6, returns with an all-over toss pattern design inspired by icons from the Double R Diner.

The Twin Peaks X Society6 collection is no longer available as of 2024. This article is an archive of the artwork featured in this collection released in 2020 for the 30th anniversary of David Lynch and Mark Frost’s wonderful and strange series.

JUNE 19, 2020 – YESTERDAY COLLECTION

Twin Peaks X Society6 Collection - Yesterday Collection

Presented on a light blue background, Yesterday Collection incorporated several icons from the diner including the Cafe sign, “RR” neon sign, a coffee decanter, and, of course, cherry pie. You’ll also spot “Norma” and “Shelly,” a “couple of refugee beauty queens” who work at the Double R.

I also found this print available as fabric from her Spoonflower shop.

TWEDE’S CAFE RETURNS

Rachel and Max, the owners of Twede’s Cafe, in North Bend, Washington recently reopened their doors for dining service. They also do take out orders, and you can order their coffee online.

Bookhouse Gal Jill Watson recently paid them a visit and was happy to report the news of their reopening on Twitter.

Bookhouse Boy @PineyRealm also paid them a visit and captured on new detail along the back wall.

When their dining room was recently closed, Rachel painted the back wall near the restroom hallway to resemble the wallpaper found on the Double R Diner set used in Seasons 1 and 2 (excluding the Pilot Episode).

New items that caught my eye this time are a sun shade, wall clock and the ever-“trendy” fanny pack.

I also thought the yoga mat was a nice addition.

THE ARTIST

Yesterday Collection

A West Seattle-based textile designer with a BA in Fashion Design, Kathryn Sich has been trained in the fine arts since childhood, and has a broad amount of experience in all aspects of art and design.  She began her higher education as a Fibers major at The Maryland Institute College of Art before earning a degree in Fashion Design from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.

In addition to fashion, Kathryn has also always enjoyed packaging design, interior design, and furniture design/carpentry.  Her main area of interest is textiles, feeling it is the perfect marriage of fashion and interiors.  She loves designing conversation-worthy fabrics for both the home and the wardrobe.  While her style is quite eclectic, her work is most often inspired by Postmodern art and the Memphis Milano design movement of the 1980’s.

You can follow her work on Instagram (@Yesterday.Collection) and check out her more than 1,500 other Society6 designs HERE.
