Roundup of Twin Peaks-Themed Face Coverings

With recent mandatory orders encouraging people to wear face coverings (or face masks, if you like) in public, here is a round-up of Twin Peaks-themed coverings you can find available today.

NOTE – This article was originally published on June 19, 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic.

MY FACE COVERINGSteven's Face Covering

My best friend’s wife made me a special face covering that I’ve been actively wearing in public. The coverings presented below are not medical grade, and you should refer to the disclaimers about each one. The Centers for Disease Control in the United States also offers some insight about face coverings.

The most important thing is to wear one in public.

I love being the only person sporting a Twin Peaks mask as, to paraphrase Sailor Ripley, it shows off my individuality and belief in personal freedom.

If you have a face coverings suggestion, please share in the comments below. Click on the images or links to go to the respective shops.

TWIN PEAKS FACE COVERINGS ON SHOWTIME STORE

The official SHOWTIME Store for Twin Peaks has added two face masks that are made with comfortable, breathable materials that cover your nose AND mouth. ViacomCBS will donate 100% of its proceeds from Snow Commerce’s sale of SHOWTIME face masks to support Feeding America’s COVID-19 Response Fund. So you can represent Twin Peaks during each essential outing and support a good cause.

Showtime Store - Owl Cave

Featuring a pattern of Owl Cave icons, this Twin Peaks Owl Cave Icon Face Mask will be recognized by any Twin Peaks fan.

Here is how the Showtime Store face coverings look in person. I’m basically a walking Twin Peaks merchandise billboard, especially with my tees and hat (right image) from Fright Rags.

Three Pack of Showtime Store Face Coverings
Showtime Store

In November 2020, a three-pack of face coverings was added. This set includes the iconic scene from Part 8 complete with the Woodsman’s catchphrase.

The Showtime Store also added a Red Room-themed neck gaiter. It’s different than the face masks shown above and proceeds won’t benefit Feeding America. Yet it’s another option for some.

This All-Over Print Neck Gaiter Twin Peaks Red Room Chevron Washable Gaiter can be used as a face covering, headband, bandana, wristband, balaclava, and neck warmer. The breathable material can be washed and reused over and over again.

FACE COVERINGS ON SOCIETY6

Throughout June 2020, Showtime and Society6 celebrated the 30th Anniversary of Twin Peaks with a collection of artwork from artists around the world. Two of the artists offered face coverings as an option. NOTE – As of 2024, many of these items are no longer offered on Society6.

Marissa Edwards’ “Cherry Pie Dreams” design was the first artwork to appear on a new face mask.

The artist name Shilat created this neon-inspired face covering featuring Laura Palmer’s hands shortly after she says “Meanwhile” while in the Red Room.

Wisconsin artist Chris Bergeron captured the simplicity of the otherworldly Red Room for this face covering. His original “Red Room” artwork was first released on June 3, 2020.

West Seattle-based artist YesterdayCollection captured the iconic Owl Cave petroglyph for this face covering design in black. It’s also available as a face mask in “curtain red.”

Her artwork was released on June 6 and June 29, 2020 respectively

Double R Diner Toss Face Mask
Artwork by Yesterday Collection

YesterdayCollection also created a toss pattern inspired by icons from the Double R Diner. It looks great on this face covering. Details about the original artwork are found in this article from June 19, 2020.

FACE COVERINGS FROM STUDIO: DAVID LYNCH

Studio: David Lynch

Studio: David Lynch released new face coverings on July 14, 2020. While these are directly connected to Twin Peaks, they are coverings by David Lynch!  I’d like to believe the flowers came directly from Harold Smith’s apartment.

Best part is $1 from every mask sold will be donated to a nonprofit organization to feed children in need.

There are currently two What Did Jack Do? options. The one on the left is the original and a second design on the right was added more recently.

On July 30, I received the first version of the What Would Jack Do? mask from STUDIO: DAVID LYNCH store on TeeSpring.com.

The mask fabric with the sublimated image of Jack is surprisingly comfortable. I have a big head so the elastic bands could be slightly longer, but overall, I can’t wait to wear this one out.

But he would wear a mask for love…

Love the Turkey Cheese Head mask that arrived on July 31. The artwork is also found on Julee Cruise’s “The Voice of Love” album from the early 1990s. I still have this playing on heavy rotation in the house, and love the recent reissued version.

TEEPUBLIC.COM – FACE COVERINGS

TeePublic.com offers several themed masks by talented artists. I particularly like the Bookhouse Boys mask [swipes temple]. Thank you to @MsGeekMedia for the tip.

TEESPRING – JILL WATSON’S MASKS

Jill Watson's Masks

Bookhouse Gal Jill Watson recently added several masks to TeeSpring.com. They include familiar sites in Snoqualmie Valley, such as Snoqualmie Falls, Mount Si and a dead nurse tree along Weeks Falls Trail in Olallie State Park outside North Bend, Washington.

The masks offers full nose and mouth coverage and include two,6-inch elastic ear loops. These are non-medical grade products and $1.00 from every mask sale will be donated to nonprofit to feed children in need.

Jill was a wonderful tour guide for me in September 2019 when I returned to Washington state following a 23-year absence.

ETSY – BIG BOW REVERSIBLE FACE MASK

The Ostbros

The Ostbros on Etsy have designed a reversible big bow mask. This mask features ear holes and extra long ties for a bow. The nose bridge area has flexible wire inside for a more snug fit. For best results, wear with a ponytail.

For each mask they sell, they will donate a handmade tie-back face mask to healthcare workers. Please note it will take 4-6 weeks for delivery.

CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

Twin Peaks Face Mask - Consequence of Sound
Designed by Kat Hornstein

Consequence of Sound released a face covering with a black and white chevron pattern. A portion of the proceeds from this mask will go toward MusiCares’ COVID-19 relief refund benefiting artists and other music industry professionals.

Please note the face covering above and several others in this article are not officially licensed products from Showtime Networks, Inc. or Twin Peaks Productions, Inc.

I’m honestly surprised that the Showtime store doesn’t have one available now (hint, hint). Long story short, please wear a face mask/covering. I want to see all of our again, everyone of you. These face coverings will help.
