With the start of a new week, Society6 released another piece of art by Nashville-based artist Brianna “Bunny” Miele. This time, Federal Bureau of Investigations Special Agent Dale Cooper takes the spotlight in this print containing a nod to the Black Lodge
Bunny’s print joins her previous Twin Peaks-inspired release as Society6 celebrates the 30th Anniversary of this wonderful and strange show.
JUNE 8 – BUNNY MIELE
Titled “Black Lodge Coop,” Dale Cooper’s face has been replaced with the familiar black-and-white chevron pattern floor from the Black Lodge. He’s holding his trusty tape recorder and sporting his black, red and white-stripped tie. A damn, fine cup of coffee surround by pine needles waits patiently nearby.
Cooper’s hand and the coffee cup were part of Bunny’s previous artwork from June 5 titled “Twin Peaks.”
PUBLICITY SHOT
Cooper’s pose in her artwork reminds me of this publicity shot created for Season 2, which debuted on September 30, 1990. A caption for this image shared on The Mauve Zone says it was published on October 13, 1990 which would have been around the airdate of Episode 2003 (#10):
“OCTOBER 13: TWIN PEAKS – Gallery – Season Two – 10/13/1990, Homecoming queen Laura Palmer is found dead, washed up on a riverbank wrapped in plastic sheeting. FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper(Kyle MacLaughlin [sic]) has been called in to work with local Sheriff Harry S. Truman in the investigation of the gruesome murder in the small Northwestern town of Twin Peaks.”
Bunny must have referenced this shot, especially the way Coop is holding the recorder.
THE PRODUCTS
This artwork is available as a print, coffee mug, sticker and stationary cards.
THE ARTIST
Bunny graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from O’More College of Design in 2014. Her passion for books led to a student job at O’More Publishing and an internship at Thomas Nelson Publishers. Just like Special Agent Cooper, she loves coffee and Twin Peaks.
Post-college, she owned a successful Etsy shop, worked as a portrait artist, and is now looking to be a designer full-time. Follow her on Instagram (@BunnyMiele) or check out her online site. Be sure to check out her other artwork available on Society6.
30-DAY COUNTDOWN
Bunny’s artwork bookends the second row on the 30-day countdown chart. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
