Vacant Peaks – Hurley Residence

1003

The Vacant Peaks series captures fleeting glimpses of buildings, sets, props or details from a place both wonderful and strange. This time, I’m visiting the Hurley residence, home to Big Ed, Nadine, and James.

The Hurley home exterior (shot in Washington State) was only briefly seen in the Pilot Episode. Most of the scenes at this location took place inside the home (on a set). Interestingly, there were a few shot that used Big Ed’s Gas Farm as an establishing shot before cutting to the interior of the home (look for a “Setting the Stage” article about this coming soon).

The Hurley home contains some of my favorite figurines created by the prop department, including one with an eye patch that resembles Nadine! You can see one of the original props from this set on the Twin Peaks Props site.
